New frontiers of Cosmetic Sciences: science, innovation and well-being at the center of the SICC workshop
The workshop "New frontiers of Cosmetic Sciences: Omic approaches and Neurocosmetics" took place on 21st September 2026, an event dedicated to the in-depth analysis of the most recent innovations in the cosmetic world and the new perspectives offered by scientific research.

The initiative, organized by SICC, involved the Universities of Milan, with Prof. Aldini and Chieti, with Prof. Di Martino, participating in the project, creating an important moment of comparison and sharing between research, training and the cosmetics industry. The workshop took place in a widespread manner, with the locations connected online, allowing students to follow the different sessions and exchange views with teachers and experts in the sector.

During the day, highly topical topics were addressed, from proteomics, metabolomics and epigenetics applied to cosmetic research, up to neurocosmetics, response biomarkers and new methodologies for evaluating the effectiveness of cosmetic products. Ample space was also dedicated to the relationship between cosmetics, emotions and well-being, with an in-depth analysis of the contribution of neuroscience to joyful beauty.

The afternoon session continued the journey by exploring science and cosmetic innovation, instrumental validation, claims and scientific evidence, up to the theme of Well-Ageing and Anti-ageing, always with a view to cosmetics increasingly based on data, research and knowledge of biological mechanisms.

A day which confirmed the importance of dialogue between universities, research and the cosmetics sector and which represents a further step towards the construction of a network between Italian universities coordinated by SICC dedicated to Cosmetic Sciences.

A training and sharing experience that already looks to the next SICC initiatives, with the aim of continuing to tell and explore the evolution of cosmetics through science, innovation and well-being
